Team feeds off fan support

Every fall Friday night, the football team leaves everything it has on the field.  However, to have success on Friday nights,   the boys have to put in hard work every other day of the week.

For some, these first few years on the team are an eye-opener about how many people put hope into our team.  For others, their games become numbered as their senior year comes to an end.

The team’s head coach, Nick Felus, is in his second season, and sees a change in the players already.

“The overall attitude and competitiveness has changed,  they want to win every day.” Felus said. “We have one year under our belt.”

The team is currently 1-3; six games remain.

Felus also lauds his senior leaders.

“We have great senior leadership” Felus said. “They play with pride and passion.”

Senior Domenic Roefaro has been playing since the fourth grade. He serves as a team captain.

“I fell in love with the game and I haven’t stopped playing since,” Roefaro said.

Felus and the team like crowd support.

“We love our student section.” Felus said. “We are very fortunate; [the crowd] gives us energy and a boost.”

As for the players, they appreciate “the enthusiasm of the crowd,” Roefaro said.
