There is a serious lack of vegan options in the cafeteria. The only vegan option in the cafeteria is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with your choice of fruit and fruit juice to drink.
Most of the time it is impossible to even take a bite out of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich since they’re usually frozen solid.
Unfortunately the fruit isn’t too great either. The bananas are never ripe enough to eat, the grapes are warm and mushy, and the apples are overly soft from bruising.
You can also forget about having veggies too. The carrots sit out and tend to have a slimy film over them, and the celery sticks are more chewy than crunchy.
So what is a vegan in AAHS to do when it comes to lunchtime? Your best bet is to just pack a lunch. It’ll most likely be a lot healthier than what the school currently has to offer.
Veganism has risen 500% in the U.S. since 2014. Hopefully our school will be able to accommodate for students that participate in this rapidly growing lifestyle.
